Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Elements and Performance Criteria Pre-ContentĮlements describe the essential outcomes of a unit of competency. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement. While some supervision and guidance are provided in practice sessions and rehearsals, dancers are expected to display a high level of motivation and sense of responsibility for themselves and others during practice sessions, rehearsals and live performances. They could also be performing in rehearsals and productions of established or original works by staff and guest choreographers.Īt this level, dancers are constantly refining their technique and perfecting their artistry across complex dance sequences and repertoire. Employment is with professional companies where dancers perform advanced repertoire from traditional ballets and contemporary works as part of ensemble, duo or soloist roles. This unit applies to dancers who are moving towards professional careers in contexts where complex dance technique and versatility are required. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to perform complex dance technique demonstrating range, depth, precision and artistry across traditional ballet and contemporary works at a professional level. They have also been winners at the London Regional Awards Day and Genée Dance Competition - both held at the Royal Academy of Dance HQ.This version first released with CUA11 Live Performance Training Package version 1.0 Past pupils have been offered places on the Royal Ballet School’s Junior and Mid Associate Scheme and at The Royal Ballet School (White Lodge), Elmhurst Ballet School, Arts Educational, Tring Park, Young Dancers’ Academy as well as being selected to perform with London Children's Ballet (LCB), National Youth Ballet (NYB), Royal Ballet Company, Bolshoi Ballet and the Australian Ballet. Expert advice is on offer as to the audition process for both vocational schools and associate programmes. The Ballet Academy was set up to provide additional support for these children and is by invitation only. However, if a child shows the potential to choose dance as a career the training they will receive at The Ballet School London will serve as an excellent basis for subsequent vocational training.
